I'm new

At Grace Church you’ll find people of all ages and stages and backgrounds, committed to learning from the Bible as we seek actively to love and serve Jesus Christ, and make disciples.

It is a great place to meet people who live locally, and visitors are always welcome. Whether you are investigating the claims of Jesus or looking for a church family to make your own, we’d be delighted if you joined us.

What to expect on Sunday

During the pandemic we're meeting across two services, at 9:45am and 11am, both in a Covid secure manner. You would be welcome to either.

Children are most welcome at the shorter 9.45am service where the first 15 minutes are 'all age' before the bible reading and sermon. At present the 11am service is about an hour.

Usually, all ages begin the service together. After around 15 minutes, the children aged 0-13 (up to year 8) go to crèche and Sunday Club for their own Bible teaching activities until the end of the service. All leaders and helpers are fully DBS-checked church members and receive regular training. The adults stay for the sermon, prayers and songs.

Our meetings last for about an hour and a quarter, and coffee and tea are served afterwards. People often stay after the service to chat and to get to know one another.

Just looking

There are all kinds of reasons why people start thinking about Christianity. Perhaps you’ve been having some challenging conversations with a Christian friend. Perhaps there are things happening in your life (good or bad) which are causing you to reconsider what life is all about. Whatever your reason, we want Grace Church to be a place where you’re free to ask questions, think and discover for yourself.

We believe that God has ultimately made himself known in the person of Jesus Christ, and that we find out about him and what he’s done for us in the Bible. The message of Jesus is really good news. In fact, it’s the best news you could ever hear: it tells us how messed up, broken people like us can be reunited with God, the one who made us and loves us. It’s news which brings us hope and gives us purpose.

Christianity Explored

If you would like to examine the claims of the Christian faith for yourself, we run a regular series called Christianity Explored, which aims to strip away the packaging and enables you to take a close look at the real Jesus.

It is run in many churches in the UK and around the world. For some it serves as an introduction to Jesus Christ, for others it’s a useful refresher.

The series runs once a week for either three or seven weeks and uses a mixture of DVD and discussion. We arrange series to suit people’s circumstances and can also run them on a Sunday morning at the same time as the main Grace Church meeting, where there is a creche and Sunday Club for children.

The series takes you through Mark’s Gospel, an eye-witness account of the life of Jesus. You do not need to know anything about the Bible, you will not be asked to read aloud, pray or sing, but you will have every opportunity to talk freely and ask questions.

If you’re interested, please get in touch with us via the contact us page and we can let you know when the next series is starting or arrange one to suit you.

Main Gathering

During the COVID19 pandemic we are meeting on Sundays at 9:45am then again at 11am. The 11am service is also on Zoom. Contact us for more details if you would like to join us.
